Sewing patterns promise transformation. Buy the pattern, make the dress, become the better version of yourself.

These women, inspired by the sewing pattern envelopes from ago, have been measured all their lives. Bust, waist, hips. Good enough, not good enough. The apparatus of measurement surrounds them: tally marks, grids, stamps.

We live in a time where violence against women is normalised. These works point and work with this. Blood at her feet. A bouquet of heads. Her face is a bloom.
